Import from Endnote/Refworks
WizFolio provides you with a convenient method to transfer your existing collections from other reference management software. Simply export your collections as an .ris file and import them directly into WizFolio.

Export from Refworks as an RIS File

  1. In your RefWorks account, go to “References” Menu and select “Export”.
  2. Select 'All References'.
  3. Select “Bibliographic Software” format, and click “Export”. Your references should appear in a new browser window or tab. If not, make sure that popup windows are not blocked.
  4. Copy and paste the text into a .txt file, and save. Choose UTF-8 as the encoding if you have any non-English references in your list.
  5. Now you can import the RIS file into your WizFolio account.

Export Endnote X1, X2 or X3 Library as an RIS File

  1. In Endnote X1 and X2, go to "Reference" Menu and click "Show All References".
  2. Then, from "File" menu, click on "Export".
    Under Save as type, select “Text File (*.txt)” format.
    Under “Output style”, click on “Select Another Style”.
  3. In the “Choose a Style” window, search for Refman (RIS) Export. Click “Save”.
  4. Now you can import the RIS file into your WizFolio account.

Export Endnote X Library as an RIS File

  1. In EndNote X, in the Main Toolbar, select the output style drop-down menu and select the RefMan (RIS) style.
  2. Now go to “File” menu, click on “Export”.
    Under Save as Type, select “Text File (*.txt)” format.
    Click “Save”.
  3. Use Microsoft Word to open the text file you exported from EndNote.
  4. When Word asks you to select an encoding option, choose "Other Encoding" and "Unicode (UTF-8)."
  5. In Word, under the File menu, click “Save As” and save the document with a new name, as plain text, and with Windows-default as the encoding option.
  6. Import the txt file into WizFolio.
